A beautiful autumn

I love the rain so much these days!

The autumnal colors are the ones I find most in my palette throughout the year. As in the drawing above that I did back in May. By the way , you probably cannot read it, can you? Well, that's the way it's supposed to be, there are no words, no letter, just a hand dancing over the paper. I learned that it's called asemic or asemantic writing: the pleasure of writing for the gesture, without meaning, without an alphabet. I let the hand flow, and it's such a pleasure to do that.

Do I feel attracted to that because I'm about to put out in the world a book? A book that I wrote myself with words that people can read?

See, if even the rain gets me high, it's because of the endorphines: yes, I completed a book. And by completed, I mean the printer sent me the copies; this book exists! It's an incredible feeling to see it in the hands of other people. Observing who is eager for the content and immediately dives into reading, or who appreciates it as a bibliophile, valuing the object and its material just as much.

The book is self-published, which means doing everything from A to Z, ingluding M like Mistakes, thus experiencing and discovering along the way. Writing, drawings, this was not too complicated, since the book is a reproduction of the sketchbook I kept during a very long bus journey this summer. But then - I had to figure out the binding, the paper weight, contemplate promotion, layout,the translation into English... and so on! I loved doing all of it and I'm proud of the result.

What is inside, except for paper? From Istanbul to Munich, almost every hour, I drew and narrated what was happening behind rolling closed doors. The printed book remains true to the original, featuring handwritten text and drawings created on a moving bus.
